Greetings everyone, A quick update on two things from my last post.
I'm super excited to announce that I'll be teaching at Handcraft Studio School on June 2nd from 2-5. Click here for link. This is a family class for children as young as 9 accompanied by an adult. The project is a painted zippered pouch and a great beginning project for folks who want to learn to sew. Please tell your friends.
Also, a quick update on the studio move. Before I took over the garage, there needed to be some work done to make it habitable. Other than a certain someone cleaning out all his crap, the ceiling needed fixing. The person who owned this house before had put up this canvas to hold in insulation. It neither kept the space warm or inviting. Here's the before image:
I hired a wonderful man named Manuel. His team put up drywall for the ceiling. Here it is already primed. Yes, I primed and painted a 164 square foot space by myself.
Ok, enough of the ceiling, here's a photo of the finished studio painted and ready for move in. I hope to move in the week of the 15th. Geez, now I have to pack everything. I'm super excited to have this new space to work in. Not only do I have more space than ever before it's in the backyard.
And, don't forget, I'll be selling at the Friday night event at the Oakland Museum on Friday, April 19th from 5-9. Hope to see you there.
